This Is Just a Test... Just Do It!

What is it about people and questioning if something is real or not, or if something's just a test...?!  It always amazes me to hear people ask if they should evacuate a building, while the fire alarm is going off...  WHO CARES!!!  Just GO!  If you are one of these people, maybe...just maybe, you should rethink your questioning mind.  Save the questions until after such events have happened and you are safely out of harms way.

We had a fire drill (okay, this was just a test) just this morning at work.  Mind you, I work for a larger company of approx 500ish people in this 16 floored building.  I work on the 14th floor.  We have several elevators to the building, which is good because it saves your toosies the climb and many working in cubes, the stench.  During a fire drill, everyone knows that you aren't supposed to take elevators (or in the event of a real fire!), which leaves the stairs...  Office environments...you always have women in heels!  Yuck...walking all the way down that many flights of stairs -- not my idea of stylish fun!  Appearantly, others feel the same and try to avoid the evacuation and decide to call me, the receptionist.  IF it were real, I wouldn't be here to answer!!!

So, I was one of the fortunate ones and didn't have to evacuate the building and was able to sit at my desk (a large one with the most amazing view ever!) while every one of those women were having to walk those flights of stairs in their heels.  I feel for them, especially since no one decided to call me to find out whether they needed to go or not.  My faith in those questioning types is returning...  I'm proud of them!  And no one burned alive while trying to call the receptionist to see if it was just a test.

It's funny, I think about that and then think about how often, people in this life ask questions that aren't smart (I believe it's because they are inherently lazy or just can't take others for their words, but I'm sure there are more reasons than just those) or rather should be asked in their minds rather than out loud.  BUT!  I started comparing it to this life that we are living in.  How we are sent here to be tested.  Everything that we do and say is recorded.  If we're here for a test...shouldn't that mean it's for real?!  This isn't a dress rehearsal!
–noun 1. a session of exercise, drill, or practice, usually private, in preparation for a public performance, ceremony, etc.
There are so many people who take everyday as a rehearsal, as if they would be able to redo or have an official performance, so to say, and do it all over again if they messed up or casually went about their days.  Every day counts, like every decision (and every decision DOES have a consequence that'll follow) and word that comes from ourselves.  So, instead of saying "This is just a test", maybe we should be saying,

"THIS IS A TEST!"
